Pact Charter High School
“The Eagles overpowered the PACT High School Jaguars 4-0 en route to senior goalkeeper Jacob Montgomery’s first shut out of the season. Senior forward Luke Berger started the scoring at the 5 minute mark. 10 minutes later, senior midfielder Chris Kesting, assisted by forward Cole Sheridan, made it 2-0. At the 25 minute mark, the two seniors teamed up again, this time Kesting returning the favor Sheridan, to give the Eagles a 3-0 lead. The Eagles continued to dominate midfield play and control the play. In the last minute of the half, Kesting got his second goal of the game after coming away with clean shot following a mad scramble in front of the Panther’s net. When the whistle blew, the Eagles had a commanding 4-0 advantage.
The second half play was more even. The Panthers displayed more intensity and Coach Rupp used the large lead to give his bench some extended play as well as rotate some defenders into the offensive zone and vice versa. There were good scoring opportunities for both teams. Montgomery had a stellar game and smothered every quality scoring chance the visitors could muster. It was a strong team effort all around.”
