The Eagles traveled to Eagan on Thursday to take on the Trinity Tri-Hawks in a Section 4AA opener.
In a hard fought competitive game, the Eagles fell by a final score of 66-59.
The Eagles led throughout the first half behind 11 first half points from Carly Hager and another 8 first half points from Hannah Nelson. The Eagles took a two point lead into the break, 26-24.
The second half seesawed back in forth, with the Eagles trailing 40-39, before a quick 8-0 run by the Tri-Hawks stretched out a lead they would never relinquish.
A couple late 3-pointers got the Eagles within 6 in the final minute, but they never got any closer and their season ended with a 66-59 loss.
In her final game, Senior Hannah Nelson led the Eagles with 15 points. In a look to the future 8th Grader Bethany Brocker chipped in 14 points and 9th Grader Carly Hager added 13 points in the loss.
It was the final game for three Eagle Seniors, as Hannah Nelson, Ally Hullett and Bekah Lenhart all wrapped-up their basketball careers on Thursday night. We thank all three of them for their tremendous contributions to the program these past four years, and wish them nothing but the best in the next chapters of their lives.
